Local Sinn Fein TD Claire Kerrane says she is “bitterly disappointed and extremely frustrated” that Ballaghaderreen swimming pool did not open today as planned. In a social media message this evening, Deputy Kerrane said she shared the reopening date of October 16th as given to her by the Department “in good faith”. The Sinn Fein TD said she was “raging” after three weeks of checking in to make sure the opening was on track. “I haven’t been given a straight answer as to why today’s opening did not go ahead,” she said. Contracts were signed in August for the reopening of the swimming pool and gym as part of the leisure centre in the EROC in Ballaghaderreen.
